Last night, Karachi witnessed one of the biggest rock events in the history of music -- the Redbull Sound Clash, in which Ali Azmat and Umair Jaswal came face to face to represent two different generations of music.

In an interview with The Express Tribune, Umair Jaswal said of the event, "It will be very loud and interesting. The clash is of the 'sound' that we both have...Ali is one of my inspirations, you'll see a lot of elements of Ali's music in mine."

"We look at songs differently, his music is from the old school lot and ours is of the new age. It'll be great fun to see how these both come together," he further added.

Needless to say, the event was a major hit as the musical mega giants went up against each other. Hosted by Ahmed Ali Butt, the clash opened with underground bands performing brilliantly before both Ali and Umair took to their separate stages and started rocking out to our favorite songs.

FK | 7 years ago | Reply @AAA Quality singing is what Javed Bashir, Rahat, Abida etc. perform. Learn and develop singing skills and the process of revelation will takes its course. Our industry isn't resource rich is why we accept ABCDs to perform on stage. My point is more to do with technique and skill which should be eligibility criteria and this holds for music directors too. Just a way I evaluate quality of music in Pak.
AAA | 7 years ago | Reply @FK pakistan is not short of quality music .. if only u had made an effort and heard the indie musicians of Pakistan then u will realize how much talent is going unnoticed due to lack of infrastructure and bias of the mainstream media ...the music directors are unaware of the sudden changes in music style of pak youth and the mainstream artists are still living in the past,,,
