Epidemic: Two hospitalised with symptoms of Congo fever

One of them was later referred to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital

MULTAN: Two people with Congo fever symptoms were admitted to Sahiwal District Headquarters Hospital on Friday.

One of them was later referred to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

Health EDO Dr Sirajuddin told newsmen that 30-year-old Ali Raza and 30-year-old Surayya Bibi were brought to the hospital early on Friday each with a nose bleed and a high fever.

He said they were also coughing up blood. He said the pair had been admitted in an isolated section of the Intensive Care Unit.

He said their blood samples had been sent to the National Institute for Health for tests.

The EDO said the woman had been referred to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore as her condition deteriorated.
