Trouble in Ghotki school

Letter August 25, 2016
The present office-bearers of the NGO have started ignoring the key priorities of their organisation

GHOTKI: For the past two weeks, a well-known smoothly functioning educational institute in Ghotki has become a centre of agitation thanks to the antics of a regional non-governmental organisation based in Karachi. The school was being run with the help of the NGO. It had been decided by the people of Ghotki and the NGO to let the school work under the leadership of its founder and principal as long as the founder/principal wanted to, and that there will be no interference in operational matters of the institute by outsiders. The NGO has now terminated the best teachers of the school along with the founder/principal. Their removal has created unrest among the citizens of Ghotki and has hurt the school’s reputation.

As a citizen of Ghotki, I can vouch for the fact that the principal made the school one of the best ones in the district through his hard work and dedication. When it is compared to other schools managed by the same NGO, it is still the best as it has produced engineers, doctors, bureaucrats and army officers who are serving all over Pakistan and abroad.

The present office-bearers of the NGO have started ignoring the key priorities of their organisation. Therefore, the citizens of Ghotki request the authorities as well as the MNA from Ghotki, Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar, founder of the organisation and its members to reinstate the principal along with teachers, so that the school can continue working for the betterment of our children.
