Scrabble: Team Pakistan to depart on Aug 25

23-member squad to compete in World Youth Scrabble Championship and the World Championships in France

KARACHI: A 23-member Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA) squad are set to depart for the World Youth Scrabble Championship and the World Championships in France on Thursday.

Moizullah Baig, who is currently coaching the young lot, won the youth championship in 2013, and Pakistan continued with impressive runs as a team to finish second in 2014 and 2015. The squad includes Abdullah Abbasi, who finished second in the championship last year.

World scrabble’s biggest event: Khatri among top 15 at King’s Cup


The players will be competing in every age category from U10 to U18 in Lille, where the event will commence on August 27.

Meanwhile, six senior players including national champion Waseem Khatri and Baig along with four others will compete at the World Scrabble Championship.
