Independence day: PSP rally blocks Sharae Faisal

The rally was meant to show unity of Pakistanis

KARACHI: The Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) organised an Independence Day rally on Friday from its office till Quaid-i-Azam’s Mausoleum, blocking parts of Sharae Faisal for several hours.

“The rally was held to show that the people of Pakistan will not bow down in front of the enemy,” said PSP leader Aasia Ishaque. “Pakistan is fighting against internal and external enemies,” said PSP secretary-general Raza Haroon, adding that the rally was meant to show unity of Pakistanis.

“It will show that the people of Karachi can and have saved Pakistan from its enemies,” said PSP vice-chairperson Wasim Aftab.  “I am participating because I am hopeful PSP will restore peace in Karachi and save Pakistan,” said a participant, Aisha.
