A group of students in Lahore held at demonstration at the Liberty Roundabout on Monday to mourn the loss of at least 70 lives in the suicide blast at Civil Hospital, Quetta.

The students were affiliated with the Democratic Students’ Alliance (DSA).They said they demanded the authorities concerned to protect and respect the constitutionally guaranteed rights of life and security of the Baloch people.

DSA member Ramis Sohail said they had gathered on a short notice to express solidarity with the bereaved families.

Some students from Balochistan were also present on the occasion. Aoun Gurmani said that the situation in Balochistan should be a matter of concern for every Pakistani citizen. “We should all come together to demand that state institutes should provide security to the people of Balochistan. The lack of empathy for the people of Balochistan is a cause of concern for us,” he said.
