Independence day: City govt plans festivities

LAHORE: The city government will organise a torch-bearing rally, fireworks and an exhibition to mark the Independence Day. A fireworks show will be held at Gaddafi Stadium early on August 14. The Ravi Town administration will take out a torch-bearing rally from the TMA’s office to Masti Gate Chowk. The Social Welfare Department will organise an exhibition and a seminar at 22 Kashmir Block, Allama Iqbal Town. Major roads will be decorated with lights and portraits of Pakistan Movement leaders. National songs will also be played at various locations on August 14. The city government’s social media team has created an event on Facebook with regard to the celebrations.
