LAHORE: Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael said on Friday that he would devote all his energy to recovering the missing children and bring them back to their parents.

Speaking at a seminar on the issue of kidnapped children in Lahore, he stated that an effective search strategy would be finalised soon. He said that more than 496 children had gone missing during the year 2015-16, of which only 52 cases remained unsolved.

One of the proposals at the seminar was for a picture of the missing child to be shared with all provinces as soon as an FIR was registered.

Earlier, the investigations DIG and other police officials briefed the participants regarding the issue. The seminar was attended by several parliamentarians, police high-ups, human rights activists and media representatives.
