FAISALABAD: Seven members of a family were badly injured after the roof of their house in Islam Nagar collapsed on Monday night.
Neighbours told Rescue-1122 officials that the seven people were asleep on the roof of the house when it caved in. They said the loud crash woke up residents of Street 12, Islamnagar. The neighbours called up Rescue-1122 and tried to help the members of the family out of the debris.
They managed to take out Ramazan, Shahbaz, 30, Shamim Akhtar, 60, Nasreen, 28, Sajjad, 12, Zahoob, 10, and Abbas, 9, out of the rubble. The injured were taken to Allied Hospital. Doctors there later said timely action by the neighbours, who had rushed to rescue the injured from the rubble, had saved their lives.
