Anushka Sharma just recently worked with Salman in blockbuster hit Sultan.

Anushka Sharma -- Salman Khan's Sultan co-star -- is the latest Bollywood celerity to comment on the megastar's "raped woman" remark.

During a recent interview with Film Companion, when she was asked to comment on the controversy involving her Sultan co-star, Anushka said, "I feel like it was insensitive and something that I was a bit surprised by.

But she pointed out one good thing that came out of it: "It made me think about how each one of us have a responsibility towards what we speak in any place. Whatever you say, you have to be aware of that. I think we celebrities have to be more aware of what we are saying."

"You hear people say things like 'Oh I had a tough day, feel like I was raped.' People have realised that this can't be taken lightly or the word 'rape' can't be used loosely which is the only positive thing about this," she added.

But here's the surprising part. When asked if she would suggest Salman to apologise on his remark, Anushka revealed that she doesn't have that equation with him as she "doesn't know him at all."

"I don't know him at all. I have done one film with him and that's the amount of interaction I've had with him," she said.

After Salman's 'rape comment', Aamir Khan's 'waiter remark' sparks outrage

“Salman is intimidating and he is not someone who would go out of his way to make you feel comfortable. He’s going to be himself and he’ll just do his thing. And I’m very shy as a person so I can’t bridge that gap either. We don't have that kind of a equation where we have conversations," she said.

Meanwhile, Anushka, who is currently riding high on the success of Sultan, is keen to work in Hollywood, as she thinks it would be a "great opportunity".

Asked if she would like to work in a Hollywood project, the NH10 actress told IANS: "Yeah, it would be a great opportunity, because as an actor you would want to do all kinds of work. Working in a different set-up will be interesting".

However, Anuskha said she is "not actively trying to get work from outside".

"I feel today is the right time for Indians and other representations we are getting in international films... So (I would like to do) something where I am not playing a stereotype of an Indian and something interesting and realistic," she added.

"Something that I am not doing here (Bollywood), I would not do it in Hollywood either. It would always be a content or a challenge that would take me there, (and) for no other reason I would work there because ultimately for me everything is the same as long as I get to play a good and challenging role any place is most welcome," Anushka said.

Kip Km | 7 years ago | Reply Anushka was very graceful in this interview, but could have been better. What she really wanted to say or should have said, got lost while translating her thoughts from Hindi to English. This is such a desi phenomenon, prevalent all over the world. Unless born speaking a language, most of the time while "explaining" your inner thought processes, its wise (therefore true reflection of what you really meant to say) to speak your native language. I can understand that while responding to a reporter in their language (in this case English) and constantly fingering your hair-locks is very Bollywood, but it adds a cheapness to the interview
