PESHAWAR: A resolution has been submitted in K-P Assembly for the selection and nomination of Abdul Sattar Edhi as the nobel laureate in 2016. The move has been made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker Yaseen Khan Khalil. He submitted the resolution on Tuesday to the assembly secretariat and asked the assembly to consult the federal government and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai so that Edhi could be nominated for the prize. The purpose of the move was to recognise Edhi’s efforts for the service of the humanity. “Edhi served humanity regardless of colour, cast, creed and religion,” Khalil stated in his resolution. “Edhi did what was actually the responsibility of the government, but the government failed to do it, while, Edhi did it perfectly.” He added Edhi’s work is unparalleled and men like him are born in centuries, thus, he should be awarded the Nobel Prize.
