LAHORE: Over a hundred people packed the International Christian Fellowship (ICF) Church at Forman Christian College on Friday at a fundraising concert organised in collaboration with the Languages Recording Institute (LRI) and Livewire Studios.

The 12-member choir performed 10 gospel songs and received thunderous applause from the audience.

The line up included Sharoon Iftikhar on drums, Luke William on bass, Aneeq Alam on the electric guitar, Haroon Baig on the keyboards, Obaid Christopher Arthur on semi-acoustic guitar, Kenneth William on piano, Mark William on Cajon and John William on shakers.

Apart from melodious performances by the church choir, the team from Livewire Studios, and children of the church’s Sunday School also entertained the audience. The highlight of the concert, a near-perfect rendition of the gospel song Mighty to Save, brought the audience to its feet. They sang along and clapped in ecclesiastic rhapsody.

Father Kenneth William, LRI chairperson and pastor of the ICF, said the event had been held to raise funds for the LRI – a Christian organisation that translates religious scripture and gospel music into various languages.

David Julian, a member of the ICF congregation, said such events helped brought the community together. He said he had greatly enjoyed the performances.

Samuel Paul, a representative of the LRI, said the organisation’s most recent endeavour was to translate gospel lyrics, and text to Sindhi, Balti, and Shina.

Father Kenneth stated that owing to security concerns they had had to move the concert from a relatively larger space to the FC church.
