Four relatives gunned down in Awaran, two brothers in Kech

QUETTA: At least 13 people were shot dead while three others suffered injuries in a bomb attack in Balochistan over the two days of Eid.

In Awaran, four people were shot dead as they were returning home after offering Eid prayers on Wednesday.

Unidentified armed men ambushed the four men, who were all relatives, in the Jaho area on their way back from the mosque in Pilar, Levies officials said. The victims died on the spot and the bodies were taken to the Awaran district headquarters hospital by Balochistan levies personnel.

The deceased were identified as Adam, Farooq, Ali Sher and Siraj. They were said to have been targeted over an old enmity.

Constable killed

In Mastung district, the bullet-riddled bodies of a couple were found in the Pridingabad area.

According to the Levies, a passerby had spotted the bodies and informed the security force in Pridingabad. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Mastung, where the deceased were identified as Constable Amna Bibi and her husband Meer Mohammad.

The cause of the killing could not be determined.

String of attacks

Two brothers were gunned down in the Bahg area of Kech district on the first day of Eid.

Police said Maula Baksh and Mohammad Sharif were on the way to offer Eid prayers when unidentified assailants shot them dead over an old enmity. In Pishin, two people were gunned down in Killi Gangalzai area.

Police said unidentified armed men killed the two men, who were later identified as Roziuddin and Mohiyuddin.

In Naseerabad, a man gunned down his wife and a man on suspicion of infidelity in the Manji Shura area of the district.

Sikandar Ali killed his wife and her friend and fled the scene. The deceased were shifted to the Civil hospital.

Roadside blast

In Quetta, at least three people were wounded in a roadside blast on Sariab Road.

An improvised explosive device planted by unidentified suspects exploded when a security convoy was passing by, injuring three people.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
