Mehwish Hayat and Mahira Khan, caught our roving eye for their unique sartorial choices.

The Actor in Law trailer premiered with some actors, in attendance, losing major style points. While the men seemed like they had paid little attention to their looks altogether, two leading ladies of the industry, Mehwish Hayat and Mahira Khan, caught our roving eye for their unique sartorial choices. While the former is the leading lady of the film, Mahira showed up just to support the cast of the film. The Express Tribune breaks down their looks.

Mehwish Hayat

Mehwish’s outfit ticks off many trends – organza wrap, ripped jeans, exaggerated sleeves and that is the problem for us. The Nomi Ansari top has too much going on – for one, the rainbow of unflattering colours on this wrap and camisole do her no favours. The loud colours are further blown up by the sequins lining the front and puffed up organza material. Perhaps, white flared pants could have helped tone down the bright-coloured hoopla that was her top. Good on her to keep her hair tied and accessories and make-up to a minimal, as that turned out to be her only saving grace

Mahira Khan

Mahira knows how to nail ethnic unstated glamour like nobody’s business. To the Actor in Law premiere, she wore a modest black floor length kameez with pants, a dupatta and khussas. Her monochrome outfit was set off with an ethnic Afghani choker and a red handbag that she threw over her shoulder while posing for the paparazzi. Khan seemed comfortable and occasion appropriate (which as we’ve stressed numerous times before) is most important. It also doesn’t hurt that the actor has glowing skin sans make-up; we’re total fans!
