The election commission has vowed to take action against politicians with fake degrees.
KARACHI: The fate of Jamshed Dasti and other politicians is hanging in the balance as Election commission vows legal action against fake-degree holders.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Javed Iqbal said today that action will taken against fake degree-holders. He said that fake degree-holders will not be allowed to contest in the polls, and that the submission of incorrect information amounts to corruption.

Thank you Justice Javeed Sahab! all fake degree holders should be punished under fraud charges….Recommend
weldone Sir Javed Iqbal ,Make the justice stand above all.Recommend
The fake degree holders were trapped while submitting their nominations with the Election Commissioner.
However, the law of holding a bachelor degree was amended with the new President sworn in.
I think that in the next elections it will not be necessary for the candidates to attach a copy of degree, as the law passed during General (R) Pervez Musharraf’s rule has been amended now.
In my personal opinion, whether the candidate is a degree holder or not, it makes no difference, as both the degree holders and non-degree holders talk the same language.
Further more what the previous degree holder’s cabinet has done for the poor masses? The have not been able to add just one kilowatt of electricity any where in the country.
In my opinion all aspiring candidates should appear in an IQ test and anyone pass the examination he should be allowed to contest the national and provincial assembly’s elections.
What the nation is going to get out from degree holders when they cannot differentiate between the right and the wrong. Is there any dividing line between the right and the wrong in the country? Or whatever is right is wrong and whatever is wrong is right? Recommend
Dear Mateen you ignored that they did a fraud to deceive masses and it is still not allowed for fraudster to contest election. Jamshed Dasti fraud is ironic that he showed a degree in Islamic studies. Recommend
Anyone person who uses falsified documents for personal benefit is a cheat and a fraud.
The corollary to this is that any person wishing to represent the public in the legislature on the basis of fraud exposes himself as a lying scoundrel.(Okay, so we already have plenty of them in our assemblies, but it would be nice to cull their numbers!) Recommend
It should have been taken for granted that confirmed cheats & fraudster should not be allowed to represent people as their “leaders”. Justice Iqbal Sb has done the nation a tremendous good by declaring this. This should now be “got” implemented as this Govt will not do so on its own since it is a govt which encourages cheating & corruption. Recommend
well i wonder when somebody say that holding or not holding a degree doesnt make any difference…given the fact that all correspondence and everything inside and outside the parliament is done in english..i wonder how people like jamshed dasti can understand what they are signing?that is why only 27 members of the 342 knew about what was in the 18th amendment..the remaining just follow their party leaders….we need educated parliamenterians..and at least the cabinet should be of technocrats….just like usa…they have qualified professionals for every department…Recommend
