BAHAWALPUR:

Governor Rafique Rajwana has given Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) Vice Chancellor (VC) Qaiser Mushtaq the additional charge of Dera Ghazi Khan’s Ghazi University.

A notification to this effect was issued on Wednesday. Mushtaq had earlier been given charge of Government Sadiq College Women University over much of 2015. The academic, a noted mathematician, had earlier worked at Islamabad’s Quaid-i-Azam University. Over 70 MPhill and PhD scholars had successfully completed their degrees under his supervision. Mushtaq has authored 11 books. He pursued postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mushtaq obtained a doctoral degree from Oxford University. He has been the recipient of scores of awards. Academics have praised the government’s decision of giving Ghazi University’s additional charge to him. This, they said, was a welcome development.
