Four policemen injured in Peshawar IED attack

Around 3kg of high explosives were used in the attack, police say

PESHAWAR: Four police constables were injured in a roadside bomb attack in Peshawar on Monday.


The officers identified as Tariq, Gul Baz, Mukthiar and Abdur Rahim were on a foot patrol on Shakarpura Road, within the jurisdiction of Daudzai police station, when an IED exploded. As a result, all the four constables were wounded.

Police reached the area and cordoned the locality, whereas the injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.


Police constable gunned down in Peshawar

Talking to The Express Tribune, a police official of Daudzai police station said all of the injured were Special Police Officers (SPOs), also known as community police constables.


A search operation was launched in the area, and police arrested several suspects, he said.

Around 3kg of high explosives were used in the attack, added the official.

On Sunday, unidentified gunmen had killed a police constable in the Garhi Sobat Khan area of Peshawar.
