"After completing his contractual commitments with his county in England, Azhar is most likely to take up the assignment," he said.

He said the appointment of Azhar has come up after consultations with head coach Mickey Arthur.

"Mickey wanted a Pakistani assistant coach with him so that he can communicate and understand the players better, therefore besides being the bowling coach Azhar will also assist Arthur," he said.
