Domestic Abuse: Man booked for ‘attempting suicide’

A man was booked for attempting to commit suicide and torturing his wife over a minor dispute in Sadiqabad on Saturday. Imran lodged a complaint with the local police that his father attempted to commit suicide after beating his mother. The suspected man was allegedly a drug addict police said, adding that he beat his wife over a domestic issue and left her severely injured. Later, he attempted to commit suicide by dousing himself with petrol. The woman is under treatment at a nearby hospital. The police have registered a case against the suspect and initiated an investigation.
