ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has ordered the heads of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and Passport and Immigration department to nominate senior officers who should personally visit service centres to address the grievances faced by the public.

“Senior officers should remain stationed at the centres for a month and evaluate the issues faced by the people in getting passport and CNICs,” the interior minister directed chairman NADRA and director general passport and immigration during a meeting.

He directed that the role of middlemen and agents at centres of NADRA and passport office should be eliminated to lessen the troubles faced by the ordinary people. “Why people have to wait and stand in long queues when we are having most advanced digital system in place all over Pakistan for issuance of CNICs and passports,” remarked the minister.
