Promoting sports: 6th Bahria Town Golf Championship opens today

Over 300 golfers competing for Rs4m prize money

RAWALPINDI: Construction giant Bahria Town is hosting golf championship that opens on Thursday (today) in Islamabad.

The 6th Chairman Bahria Town Open Golf Championship 2016 is being organised by Bahria Town at Garden City Golf & Country Club Rawalpindi and Bahria Golf City Golf & Country Club Islamabad, a press release said.

This championship is open for all golf clubs associated with Pakistan Golf Federation, with categories for professionals, senior professionals, amateurs, senior amateurs, ladies, and club members.

The championship has attracted about 300 participants from around the country to compete on these beautifully landscaped golf courses. The competition offers prizes for each category with Rs4 million for the professional category.

Bahria Town Garden City Golf & Country Club and Bahria Golf City Golf & Country Club are both the best 18-hole golf facilities in Pakistan.

Suzuki Central Motors, Rawalpindi, has announced to gift a Suzuki Wagon to the person who hits the first hole-in-one.

Bahria Town’s vice chief executive Commodore (Retd) Mohammad Ilyas addressing a press briefing said the championship is being held in collaboration with the Pakistan Golf Federation and Punjab Golf Federation and all clubs associated with these federations.
