LAHORE: A woman was abducted on Monday after she appeared before an additional district and sessions judge in a habeas corpus petition. Mohsan Iqbal had filed a habeas corpus petition, seeking the recovery of his ‘fiancé’, Saira*, who was living in an Edhi Home. The judge had earlier directed the Edhi Home administration to produce the woman in court. Tehseen Fatima a teacher of Edhi Home brought her to court. The judge did not let her go with the petitioner, stating that no relation could be established to hand over her custody. The petitioner had also not produced his CNIC before the court. The judge directed that Saira be sent back to the Edhi Home. She was later abducted by a group of people from next to the court premises. Tehseen Fatima returned to the court and informed the judge about the incident. The judge directed the Green Town SHO to register an FIR against Mohsin Iqbal and his unidentified accomplices and recover Saira.
