PESHAWAR: Models trotted designer wear at a fashion show in the city late Saturday evening. The rare ramp walk was held at Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel in collaboration with a corporate company.

According to a press release issued on Sunday, models showcased bridal and formal wear by designers Shazia Keyani, Faisal Imam, Sana and Huma. The event was greatly appreciated by the audience.

“The aim of arranging such an event is to bring out the softer image of Peshawar in particular and the province in general,” the handout quoted hotel general manager Sheharyar Mirza as saying.

According to the press release, Hashoo Group Communications Vice President Tahir Mehmood Khan, “The purpose is to infuse life into the city and revive the golden glory of this region so people of the outside world can see the real image of the province.” The ramp event was followed by live performance by famous singers including runner-up of Pakistan Idol Muhammad Shoaib and Nasir Khawaja and traditional attan dancers.

Earlier in April, an amateur fashion show was held during the Hunar-e-Hawa festival. In December 2015, a fashion show in the lobby of a shopping plaza drew attention on social media as it was pointed out only men were in the audience.
