Singer-turned-evangelist Junaid Jamshed has forgiven the men who attacked him at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad last month.

Jamshed announced his decision on Twitter with a prayer, "may Allah give us the strength to love and respect each other."



He further tweeted calling for mutual respect and harmony; "Let us all love and respect each other irrespective of our ideologies and make Pakistan a safe haven for everyone."



Police earelier identified Jamshed’s attackers and a case was been registered against them.

Last month, Jamshed was assaulted by a group of men at Islamabad airport.

Footage of the video which was shared widely on social media, showed a charged crowd taking blows at Jamshed at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport. The men were chanting slogans against the preacher, claiming he had committed blasphemy.
