Tragedies: Pedestrian, motorcyclist killed in road accidents

Police have registered a case against the unknown truck driver

Two persons were killed in two different road accidents in Rawalpindi district on Saturday. In the first case, a man died after he was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a road in the jurisdiction of Waris Khan police.


Muhammad Siddique told the police that his elder brother Muhammad Rafique was crossing a road when he was hit by motorcycle No RIM-6111 and died on the spot. Police have registered a case against Usman, the motorcycle rider.

In another case, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident in Wah Cantt area. Shafiq told the police that his uncle Muhammad Imran was riding a motorcycle when he hit by a truck No TKR-615. Imran suffered serious injuries in the accident and died. Police have registered a case against the unknown truck driver.

Three booked for kidnapping

Meanwhile, police have booked three persons for allegedly kidnapping a woman. Riaz, a resident of College Road, told City Police that Amaira, Abid Abbasi and Noor had kidnapped their housemaid Nadia Bibi. Police have registered a case against the suspects.

Four looted at gunpoint

At least four persons were looted at gunpoint in different areas of Rawalpindi city on Saturday.

Ihtishamul Haq, a resident of Satellite Town, told New Town police that Hammad Shehzad, Saif Qureshi, Zeeshan Haider and Khurram Ijaz deprived him of Rs6,000 a mobile phone and other valuables at gunpoint. Police have registered a case against the suspects.

Unidentified motorcyclists also looted Rs4,000, a mobile phone and mobile phone cards at gunpoint from Nayab Khan in Morgah area.

Similarly, RA Bazar police booked Naeem Akhtar, Imran, Waqar Iftikhar and Muhammad Imran for snatching Rs9,000 and a mobile phone at gunpoint from Sajjad Zahoor at Harley Street.

Naeema Rashid old Nasirabad police that unidentified motorcyclists snatched a gold bangle from her while she was returning home after dropping children at school.
