CHAKWAL: A man has confessed to murdering his wife and her parents in Chakwal last year. The police also recovered a 30-bore pistol used in the crime.

Aun Abbas admitted committing triple murder when he was presented before the local magistrate.

He was arrested by Choa Saidan Shah Police on March 25 on charges of murdering his wife Kulsoom Zahra and her parents, Syed Ameer Hussain Shah and Mazloom Zahra, last December.

Ameer and Mazloom were shot dead inside their house while their daughter was seriously injured who died on January 26 after battling for her life at Rawalpindi DHQ Hospital for 17 days.

Initially, the police investigated Asghar Abbas, a relative of the victim, suspected of being involved in the crime.

The police exonerated Asghar, after finding through his phone record that on the day of the crime he was in Haripur.

When the police, with the help of the local homicide department, quizzed Aun, they did not get any satisfactory answers to their questions.

During interrogation, Aun admitted that he killed his wife and her parents after becoming suspicious about his wife’s “morality”. He complained to her parents on numerous occasions but it proved of no use.

He said that he first killed Ameer and when his wife started screaming he killed her too.

Aun said that after that he shot his wife too and fled the house.
