PARACHINAR:

One of four tribespeople from Kurram Agency who had been kidnapped on March 12, escaped from Afghanistan on Sunday.

Sajid Hussain, a resident of Kurram Agency, said he was kidnapped by unidentified men in Shar-e-Now of Afghanistan when he went there for business.

The kidnappers took him along with four other people—residents of Bannu—to a mountainous area where they threatened to kill them by blowing up suicide jackets and stabbing them to death.

Hussain, who managed to escape, said he reached Bor area of Kurram Agency after walking for four hours.

The only names he could remember as far as his kidnappers were concerned were Maula Mansoor from Afghanistan, Maqbool Daqar from Waziristan, Saqib Mehsud also from Waziristan and Jaleel Mengal.

Kurram Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali Khan told The Express Tribune efforts to rescue the other three people were under way. The three other tribespeople include Sabir, Naseer and Jalal Hussain.
