Advocate Arshad Ali elected as president for third time

SWABI/ CHITRAL/ NOWSHERA/ BANNU/ SHANGLA: Bar elections were held in various districts of the province on Saturday.

The Grand Alliance, comprising lawyers’ bodies of Pakistan Peoples Party, Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, succeeded in winning Nowshera Bar Association offices.

According to results, Ijaz Mohammad Khan of Grand Alliance was elected as the president of Nowshera Bar Association, defeating Insaf Lawyers Forum’s Ijaz Khan by 26 votes. Majid Ali was elected as vice president, Raza Mohammad as general secretary and Qaisar Nawaz Khattak as finance secretary.

Swabi

In Swabi, Advocate Arshad Ali was elected as president for the third time, while Advocate Mohammad Sagheer retained the office of general secretary for the eighth term. As per the results, Arshad Ali secured 82 votes, whereas his rival Danyal Khan clinched 81 votes. Mohammad Sagheer was declared successful for the office of general secretary, with 83 votes.

Chitral

In Chitral, Ghulam Hazrat Rabbani was elected as president of the bar association. He defeated his rival Advocate Sirajuddin Rabbani.  According to results, Latifullah was elected as vice president and Shamsul Islam as general secretary.

Bannu

In Bannu, Advocate Waseem Khan was elected as president and Pir Inamullah Shah as general secretary. Inamullah Jan was elected as vice president, Mohammad Shahid Khan as finance secretary, Shah Fayaz as joint secretary and Naqeebullah Khan as library secretary.

Shangla

In Shangla, Advocate Jawad Ali Noor was elected as president of the bar association while Advocate Jehanzeb Khan clinched the post of general secretary. Advocate Sardar Rahman was elected as vice president, Fateh Yab Ali Khan as joint secretary, Shah Wali Khan as library secretary and Nazir Ahmad as finance secretary.
