Spared the noose: Murder-accused dies in jail

The body will be turned over to the deceased’s relatives after the autopsy

RAWALPINDI: An under-trial prisoner died of heart attack in Adiala jail on Wednesday. The police have shifted the body to District Headquarter Hospital for a post-mortem. Naseem Khan of Taxila was under-trial for murder. At around 4pm, Naseem suffered a heart attack and was shifted to the jail hospital for treatment, but could not be revived. Jail authorities turned over the body to the Saddar Beruni police, who sent it for an autopsy. The body will be turned over to the deceased’s relatives after the autopsy.
