ISLAMABAD: The international non-governmental organisation (INGO) community supports the government in pursuing appropriate regulation of the non-profit sector engaged in development or humanitarian actions, says Pakistan Humanitarian Forum (PHF), the representative body of more than 60 INGOs working in Pakistan.

PHF Country Coordinator Heather Macey, in a letter addressed to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, appreciated the cooperation INGOs have been receiving from the interior ministry.

The forum lauded the efforts of interior minister as well as the ministry in removing bottlenecks in way of registration of INGOs and making the new registration system a success. “Access to your team and continued effective dialogue throughout the process to date has been very encouraging and we have experienced a strong desire from your ministry for this system to succeed,” Macey said in the letter.

PHF has also commended the support that their members have received from the provincial governments. “Acting on a directive from your office they have been facilitating projects and activities of our INGO members,” observed Macey.
