FAISALABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tashkent this year to remove hurdles impeding bilateral trade between their two countries.

Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexey Y Dedov announced the meeting between the two leaders while addressing a meeting hosted in his honour by local business leaders on Monday.

Pakistan and Russia usher in new era of cooperation

Pointing out that bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia is far below their huge potential, Dedov said serious efforts are needed to capitalise on these opportunities. However, in this connection the business communities of the two countries have to play their invigorated role, in addition to the governmental support from both the countries, he added.
