Teenage girl gang raped in Haripur

Police claim to have arrested three of the four men accused

HARIPUR: A teenage girl was gang raped in the limits of village council Motiyan near Haripur, police said on Tuesday.

“We have arrested three of the four accused after a medical examination of the victim confirmed she was raped,” sub inspector Syed Shabir Shah said.

*Sania Bibi, 19, was waiting for a bus at Mowra Chowk when a Suzuki high-roof pulled over next to her and offered to driver her home claiming it was a passenger van, Kot Najeebullah police said.

“She said that as soon as she embarked the van the driver turned it towards Haripur instead of Hasan Abadal and when she protested and screamed for help, one of the accused put his hand on her mouth forcing her to keep silent,” a police official added quoting the victim.



The accused drove her to a countryside area in village Motiyan where they raped her and fled, leaving her in the vehicle. The victim reached Kot Najibullah police station where she lodged a complaint.

Police raided the houses of the accused later identified as Abrar, Azeem, Ahsan and Wazir Bacha. The fourth accused still remains at large.

The police have registered a FIR against the accused under section 376/34.
