Speakers at a meeting on Monday stressed the need for enhanced networking among Pakistani and Chinese universities. They said with enhanced collaboration among universities the two countries could extract greater benefits from the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

The meeting was arranged at the Government College University’s (GCU) Centre of Excellence in China Studies (CESC) to welcome a delegation from the China University of Geo-sciences (CUG).

The delegation included CUG Vice President Fang Hao, Silk Road Institute Executive Dean Dr Changqian Ma, International Students Office Director Dr Jiang Yuan and Dr Xiaoqing Xie, an expert on Pakistani affairs. The delegates had arrived earlier in the day on invitation of the GCU-CECS to explore possibilities for social, cultural and academic linkages among universities.
