Abid Qadri takes charge as FIA’s acting DG

Abid Qadri is regarded as one of the best and most honest officers in the police service

The interior ministry has appointed Captain (retd) Abid Qadri as the acting director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).


Highly-placed sources in the ministry told The Express Investigation Cell that after retirement of the FIA’s outgoing DG Akbar Khan Hoti, the interior ministry has appointed Qadri as the acting DG. They said Abid Qadri has taken over his new assignment.

The ministry has also included Qadri’s name in the summary forwarded to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for consideration as the FIA’s new director general. The summary includes a total of three names. Abid Qadri is regarded as one of the best and most honest officers in the police service.
