Two policemen killed, two injured in K-P

In the first incident a vehicle carrying officials of the Punjab Police came under fire from unknown attackers

NOWSHERA/TANK: Two policemen were killed and two others injured in separate incidents in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Friday morning.

“In the first incident, a vehicle carrying officials of the Punjab Police came under fire from unknown attackers in Akbarpura, Nowshera on the main GT road,” a police official said.

Police sub-inspector killed, constable injured in Mardan

"An official who was critically injured succumbed to his injuries at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar," the official added. Two other injured officials were also taken to the LRH.

In the second incident, security officials said that a checkpost came under attack in Tank district on the road leading towards South Waziristan. “Armed men opened fire on a checkpost and then escaped," police said.

"One policeman was killed in the incident," the official said.

On Wednesday, a police sub-inspector was killed and a constable severely injured as armed men opened fire at their vehicle in Mardan.

Two elite force cops shot dead in Peshawar

The attack took place near the Lund Khwar police station. The police retaliated killing one of the attackers, said a police officer at the station.

Sub inspector Sultan died in the firing, Rescue 1122 officials said. Constable Shoaib was wounded and taken to Mardan Medical Complex in critical condition, the official added.
