LAHORE: Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of Lahore High Court on Thursday once again issued a contempt notice to the federal defence secretary on a petition moved by a retired subedar for not implementing a court order on his retirement benefits.  The judge ordered the secretary to file his reply by March 15. Subedar (r) Ali Ahmad had filed the petition seeking retirement benefits equal to commissioned officers. He said junior army officers were not given fair benefits on their retirement. He said the policy was discriminatory. In his contempt petition, he told the court that the LHC had directed the defence secretary to decide the matter but he had not done so.
