Alumni festivities: Old Ravians’ Union announces reunion events

The events include a cricket match, a reunion dinner and a music concert

The Old Ravians’ Union (ORU) announced on Wednesday a series of reunion festivities for the alumni of Government College University (GCU) Lahore.


The events include a cricket match, a reunion dinner and a music concert. The decision to organise these festivities was taken at a meeting of the union’s executive committee held on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by ORU president Kamran Lashari.

ORU honorary secretary Khalid Maznoor Butt said Test cricketers and other eminent alumni would play for the Old Ravians XI on February 12 at the Oval Cricket Ground. A large number of Old Ravians and their families have been invited to the event.

Some Old Ravians from India and their families will also be invited for the annual reunion scheduled for March 2016.

Lashari said invitations would be extended to Old Ravians living all over the world. ORU executive members Muhammad Naeem Tahir, Kazi Afaq Hossain, Asjad Ghani Tahir and Faiq Sadiq also attended the meeting.

Earlier, the executive committee expressed deep grief on the demise of former ORU Executive Committee member Shameem Ahmed and prayed for the departed soul.
