LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought comments from the FIA director on a petition seeking registration of a case against seven people for defrauding 106 people. Muhammad Ashraf submitted that the suspects, including Farooq, Haji Rafique, Amir, Qari Irshad, Asim and Fiaz, had paid more than Rs4 million to Areeb International for sending 106 people abroad. He said the company did not manage to send them abroad but had returned their money. He said they had later told the 106 people that the company had embezzled the amount. “They have also filed complaints against the company at several police stations,” he said. He requested the court to register an FIR against them and quash the FIRs registered against the company.
