LAHORE:

Bachaana, the Sanam Saeed, Mohib Mirza and Adeel Hashmi starrer is set to release on February 26. The producers of the film held a music launch on Tuesday night, which was attended by the cast and crew.

While speaking to The Express Tribune, Nasir Khan, spoke about getting musician Ali Sher to compose the soundtrack of the film. “I’ve been friends with Ali Sher since VHS movies were the only things out there so he was an obvious choice,” Khan said. “Back in the day we had even thought of doing a film together.”

Ali Sher composed the title track Bachaana and also did the background score for the film which Nasir says will play a critical role in the build-up of the narrative. “It took me a year to do the background score of the film,” Sher said. “However, the great thing about doing a film’s music is that unlike solo albums, one doesn’t have to restrict themselves to a particular style. You can make any type of music as long as it goes with the situation.”

Bachaana, the title track, is an upbeat, catchy song. The video of the song shows Mohib and Sanam running through picturesque Mauritius where the film has been shot. None of the songs in the film are lip-synced, “They are a part of the story and blend seamlessly with the script,” says Khan.

The title song has been sung by Benny Dayal of Badtameez Dil fame and newbie Komal Ghazanfar. The song comes in two places in the film. “We had to make sure it was just right,” says Khan.

Composed by Prasad Saste and sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali, Yaari was the second track that was unveiled at the launch event. “We wanted a rich voice to render Yaari and Shafqat sahib’s voice was perfect for it. He has even written a couplet that is featured as an extension of the song but people will only get to listen to it in the film.”

The third song Koi Labda by Symt was not shown at the event for it may reveal critical details of the plot. “It comes at a critical juncture in the film so we can’t show it till the movie comes out because it will reveal the story,” elaborated Khan.  Koi Labda was originally featured as a duet between Symt and Sanam Marvi on Coke Studio but the version in Bachaana will only feature Symt’s part with a few new lines.

The Bachaana team also has a mashup of Yaari and Bachaana up its sleeves. It’s been produced by Dj Kiran Kamath of Aashiqui 2 fame and is going to be used at publicity events over the course of next month.

As part of creating hype for the release, a #BachaanaDubsmash competition is also being held on social media, particularly on Instagram, where many celebrities came together to support their contemporaries. Mohib Mirza shot two videos, one each with his Arth 2 costars, Humaima Malick and Uzma Hassan, whereas model Tooba Siddiqui and Ali Kazmi made one while shooting for Dobara Phir Se.

Zeenia | 8 years ago | Reply From Trailer , this movie seems to be very predicable. It has weak plot and all copycat glamour ingredients like modern camera work(Which is good in one sense but without good story it won't work). I hope though, it provides better entertainment and positive story anyway.
