LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought comments from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director on a petition seeking registration of an FIR against two Forest Department officials and a bank manager for fraudulently withdrawing four cheques valuing more than Rs8.4 million.

Petitioner Muhammad Ameen Bhatti submitted that he was allotted a tender to construct the boundary wall of Changa Manga forests. He said he was paid part of the total amount on building a portion of the wall.

He said the district forest officer (DFO) and the sub-divisional forest officer had withdrawn the money with the connivance of a Naseerabad bank manger.

He said he had now completed the construction work but was not given the remaining amount. “I have to pay my workers,” Bhatti said.

He requested the court to direct the FIA director to take action against them.
