Karo-Kari Dispute: Hindu boy kidnapped from Sukkur village

SUKKUR: A  young man belonging to the Hindu Marwari community was kidnapped by armed men from the Raees Muhammad Phulpoto village situated in the Ghotki police limits on Sunday night. A group of armed men raided the village and fled after kidnapping Ramesh Lal Marwari. The villagers chased the kidnappers but they escaped. The area police raided different villages and arrested three suspects but declined to disclose their names. The villagers told Ghotki-based journalists that, three years ago, two groups of the Hindu Marwari community clashed over a karo-kari incident and resultantly one person was killed. Later, a man, Murli, was arrested on charges of murder and was tried in the court of law, which awarded him the death penalty.
