79 militants lay down arms in North Waziristan

Three militant commanders were among those who laid down their weapons, according to ISPR

As many as 79 militants have given up their armed struggle against the state after a successful operation carried out by security forces in North Waziristan Agency, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Friday.

Three militant commanders were among those who laid down their arms. They handed over their weapons to the political administration and security forces in Miranshah area of the agency.

Moreover, in the last two months, scores of terrorists laid down their weapons in Kurram Agency and the same was witnessed during the operation in Khyber Agency, the communiqué added.

During the operation Zarb-e-Azb a number of militants had fled the area but security forces kept chasing them.
