'Honour' killing: Teenage girl, man shot dead

A teenage girl and a man were gunned down on Friday over the pretext of karo kari in Qaim Bhambhro village, within the limits of Khanpur Mahar police station, district Ghotki. Allah Dino Bhambhro suspected that his daughter, Koonj, 18, was having illicit relations with Akbar Pitafi,32. Bhambhro received information that Koonj and Pitafi were seen together at a primary school located in the outskirts of the village. He reached the school, shot both of them and fled. The bodies were shifted to taluka hospital Ghotki and later handed over to their families. Some witnesses claimed that the couple was taken to the school forcibly and later killed. An FIR has been registered against Bhambhro and his three unidentified accomplices, the sources added. However, Khanpur Mahar police official Imam Din said that no arrest has been made yet.
