Reporters association: Tribune reporter elected ERA president

Ali Usman from The Express Tribune was elected president of the Education Reporters’ Association (ERA) on Friday.


Polling for the ERA general council for 2016-17 year took place at the Lahore Press Club.

Umer Khalil, a reporter at an Urdu daily, was elected as the general secretary; Yousaf Abbasi from the Daily Express was elected the core committee chairman; Kashif Daoodi from the APP was elected the senior vice president; Rashid Manzoor from Neo TV as the vice president; Mian Ali from the Nawai-e-Waqt as the organiser; Kashif Bhatti from Daily Khabrain the joint secretary; Nasir Chaudhry from Daily Siasi Dost the information secretary; and Adeel Mustafa from Waqt News the finance secretary. Shazia Ansari was elected as the women wing coordinator.
