NADRA office attack: Rs0.5m given to each bereaved family

Minister for Education added the provincial government will take measures to facilitate the families of the victims.

MARDAN: Minister for Education Atif Khan distributed cheques amongst the heirs of victims who lost their lives in a suicide attack on the NADRA office in Mardan on December 28, 2015. At least 26 families received the cheques amounting to Rs0.5 million each. A suicide bomber blew himself up outside the gate of NADRA office in Dohsehra Chowk in which 26 people were killed while scores were injured. According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the minister handed the cheques in a simple ceremony at the deputy commissioner Imran Hamid Shaikh’s office in Mardan. While addressing the ceremony, the education minister said the attack on NADRA’s office claimed the lives of innocent people and the tragedy should be condemned in strong words. He added the provincial government will take measures to facilitate the families of the victims.
