KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh on Monday apprehended five members of a banned organisation in Karachi and recovered arms from their possession.

The Sectarian Intelligence Group (SIG) of CTD arrested Sajjad Ali, Najeebullah, Amjad, Murad Ali and Nadeem alias Munna from Muhammadi Khan Colony and Ittehad Town areas and recovered five TT pistols and several rounds of bullets from their possession, said SIG in-charge Ali Raza.

Those held were wanted for several acts of murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom, and had also engaged in an encounter with Rangers in Karachi West a month ago, he added.

Meanwhile, Rangers conducted raids in the Raxer Lane and Pak Colony areas and arrested four gangsters with links to Lyari gang-war, recovering semi machine guns (SMGs) and large quantity of narcotics from them, said public relations officer of the paramilitary force.

CTD arrests four suspects in Karachi

Earlier on December 21, the CTD arrested four terrorists, linked with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, for their involvement in terror acts.
