ABBOTTABAD: Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan said frequent martial laws and their political nurseries have caused harm to the foundations of the country inflicting irreparable economic and political loss. He said this while speaking to participants at an event organised by Hazara Abaseen Arts Council for the 35th death anniversary of famous activist of the freedom movement in Hazara Jalal Baba on Sunday. He said PML-N has not only made the country impregnable but also placed the nation on the track of sustainable economic development. “CPEC project is one of the biggest successes of PML-N government and will not only help to end the sense of deprivation of the people of Hazara but will also turn the country into a trade hub in future,” he added. Mehtab paid a tribute to Jalal Baba for his efforts in the Pakistan movement, especially his efforts in the annexation of K-P, then known as NWFP, with Pakistan through referendum in 1947. The governor announced setting up a chair in Baba’s name at Hazara University and asked the university administration to start work on it without further delay.
