PM’s aide says law and order much better than in 2013

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui on Saturday said the National Action Plan (NAP) launched by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government for the elimination of terrorism was yielding positive results.

“Peace has been restored in the country, particularly Karachi, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas,” he said while talking to PTV.

Siddiqui said since its inception, the PML-N government was determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country. He claimed that Zarb-e-Azb and the Karachi operation were initiatives of the government.

He said law and order in Karachi was now much better than 2013, when the PML-N came into power. The mega city was witnessing a comparative decline in crime rate. Similarly, law and order in Balochistan had also improved due to the government efforts and the sacrifices of law and enforcement forces, he added.

Replying to a question, he said India should avoid levelling baseless allegations on Pakistan for terror acts as it would vitiate the dialogue process.
