Vivian Richards to mentor Quetta Gladiators

The 63-year-old is hailed as one of the icons of the game

Legendary West Indian batsman and former captain Vivian Richards has agreed to mentor the Quetta Gladiators in the opening edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) set to start in Dubai and Sharjah on February 4.

“Richards is a major signing for us, he will join the team in Dubai and stay throughout the tournament,” a Gladiators official told The Express Tribune.

The 63-year-old is hailed as one of the icons of the game who left a lasting impression with his never-say-die attitude and spirit, spread over 121 Tests and 187 ODIs in a 17-year career.

Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed will captain Quetta Gladiators in the inaugural edition of the PSL.
