In light of the recent controversy surrounding Nargis Fakhri's ad featured in Pakistani Urdu newspapers, Ufone saw an opportunity, spoofed the ad and took the cake.

Although it lacks the ups and downs seen in the original ad, this one sure does tickle the funny bone. It cleverly states in fine print, 'you won't need to read this newspaper discreetly'.

We're bowled over by this brilliant marketing gimmick and so are Pakistanis as they took to Twitter to applaud Ufone and Faisal Qureshi.

However, Quetta wasn't too keen on the idea:

Earlier, Nargis disclosed that she was shocked by her ad and shared her side of the story. “As a model or celebrity, I have always believed in using my persona to help further a brand’s communication but never to have it used where I end up being objectified for my looks," said the actress.

Journalists had openly condemned the ‘obscenity’ of Nargis' seemingly innocent ad that simply showed a woman lying down with a phone in her hand.

Smart | 8 years ago | Reply Some extreme-liberals think that its bias that objectifying man is ok and female is not ok. The problem is not about the gender but the problem is the way things are being presented. Mobilink ab is completely focusing on the woman's body rather than its product while Ufone is not focusing on male body, its focusing on the blunder its competitor did and taking advantage of it.
